FOWAS improves the well-being of the community’s dogs, cats, and rabbits by:

✔ subsidizing vaccinations and spay/neutering services for pets.
✔ educating the public about animal care and spay/neuter.
✔ helping adoptable animals that need more medical care than Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter can afford.
✔ providing supplies (such as blankets, toys, etc.) to ensure that animals at the Shelter are as comfortable as possible.

In providing these services, our goals are to reduce the number of ownerless pets and aid families in becoming successful pet owners.

CREATURE COMFORTS

FOWAS wants to make sure that animals at the Watsonville Shelter are as comfortable as possible. We have developed a special fund just for providing extra pet comforts. These "creature comforts" include things such as warm blankets, toys, and important supplies. There are several ways you can donate to this fund if you feel more comfortable buying specific supplies or gift certificates. You can directly donate to this fund on the donation page.

SECOND CHANCE FUND

Our Second Chance Fund allocates money for adoptable animals that need expensive health care that the Santa Cruz County Animal Services (SCCAS) cannot afford. Without this fund many sick or injured animals may not get the "second chance" they deserve. Read below for examples of how this program helped save lives!

EDUCATION FUND

We support humane educators in public schools by offering financial support in the Watsonville areas.
