Our Homeless
Animals Need Your Help!
Our
community has grown significantly in recent years, resulting in
overcrowded conditions and support in short supply at our Watsonville
shelter. This means less attention provided for each animal, with often
the neediest animals suffering the consequences.
The
good news -- FOWAS is here to help. Past donations to FOWAS have made a
HUGE difference in the level of comfort, well-being and medical services
our furry, homeless friends received. This valuable care can only be
sustained with continued support and donations from our community.
Donations can be made to our general donation fund, Spay/Neuter Fund,
Second Chance Fund, or Creature Comfort Fund. We also accept bequest and
donations in memory of.
Please consider making a donation or
volunteering to
help the city's animals in need. The programs we offer could not
continue without people just like you. All donations are tax
deductible.

Volunteers are needed at both the Watsonville and Santa
Cruz
shelters. The most common positions include: Cat TLC, Dog Exerciser,
Rabbit Socializer, Pet Photographer, and Foster Parent. You must attend a general
volunteer orientation, complete an application, and come to an interview
with our volunteer coordinator. Volunteers must be 16 years or older, or
14 years if accompanied by a parent. This is a great way for teen
parents to bond with their teen during that difficult life stage, and to
set a compassionate example for them. Due to the required training and
the benefits of working with experienced volunteers, a two year
commitment is required. Please call the volunteer office (831-454-7202)
to sign up for the next volunteer orientation. For more information,
visit the
Santa Cruz County Animal Services website.
